Required Items   Details and Examples   Correction Steps
All template/shell links, including Schedule of Assignments, are evident and updated.   

These links include:

  • Announcements Forum
  • Attendance & Helpful Student Information
  • Course Syllabus
  • Schedule of Assignments
  • Orientation Quiz (that semester)
  • Course Evaluations

It is expected that these links remain in the course throughout the semester. If desired, your course syllabus can be an accessible PDF or Word document.

Please do not use the calendar as the only Schedule of Assignments.

Do not add nor delete from the Orientation Quiz. Additional orientation activities may be added but they cannot replace the official Orientation Quiz.

Each semester the links in the first topic are updated. Please delete imported old links rather than the current links.

NOTE: Imported items appear at the bottom of the topic!

  

 

How to Retrieve Previously Deleted Links:

  1. Navigate to the “More” tab > Select “Recycle Bin” > Click the “Restore” button (should look like an up arrow) beside the item you wish to add back to your course.
  2. If you do not immediately see “Recycle Bin” under your “More” tab, wait 10-15 minutes as it appears only after a background process is run.
  3. Items in the “Recycle Bin” exist for 7 days. Beyond this point if you need to recover template/shell links, contact the eLearning team.
The syllabus has been updated referencing the correct semester.   Self-explanatory   Click your course syllabus and verify it is the current semester.
The course includes the current semester’s Orientation Quiz with correct due date.  

After importing, delete the previous semester’s Orientation Quiz. Please DO NOT just rename it to the current semester, as it could have outdated questions or information.

 

How to Delete Old Orientation Quiz:

  1. Toggle Edit Mode on.
  2. Find the old Orientation Quiz and select the three vertical dots to the right.
  3. Select “Delete”.
There is only one updated faculty block per instructor.  

After importing, ensure you do not have two or more faculty blocks for the same instructor.

NOTE: Team taught courses should have a faculty block for each instructor.

 

How to Delete Blocks:

  1. Toggle Edit Mode on.
  2. Expand the right-side Block drawer.
  3. Select the drop-down arrow by the gear icon for the block you wish to delete.
  4. Select “Delete … block”.
No unnecessary, duplicate blocks appear in the course.   After importing, ensure you do not have more than one Quickmail, Library Databases, etc. blocks.  

How to Delete Blocks:

  1. Toggle Edit Mode on.
  2. Expand the right-side Block drawer.
  3. Select the drop-down arrow by the gear icon for the block you wish to delete.
  4. Select “Delete … block”.
No unnecessary, duplicated activities/resources appear in the course links. (i.e. two Course Evaluations).  

After importing, ensure you do not have duplicate activities/resources from the imported course.

How to Delete Activities/Resources:

  1. Toggle Edit Mode on.
  2. Find the duplicated item to delete and select the three vertical dots to the right.
  3. Select “Delete”.

How to Bulk Delete Activities/Resources:

  1. Toggle Edit Mode on.
  2. Select “Bulk actions” at the very top-right.
  3. Click “Delete” in the new banner across the bottom of the screen.
  4. Check the boxes in front of the items you want to delete.
  5. Select “Delete” in the banner again.
  6. Click “Delete” in the popup message.
There are assignments due at least every two weeks.  

To ensure students do not violate the Two-Week Attendance policy, it is important that instructors have assignments due for students to complete and submit at least every two weeks. The Schedule of Assignments is an easy place to quickly confirm this information.

 

Self-explanatory

Standardized and consistent layout of topics and course material.  

Each module in the course should be formatted in a similar fashion.

For example, each week your course might be set up in the following order:

  • Module Objectives
  • Chapter Resources
  • Chapter Activities

Organization of the individual items should be consistent as well when selecting the font and layout.

 

To edit activities or resources:

  1. Toggle Edit Mode on.
  2. Find the item you wish to edit and select the three vertical dots to the right.
  3. Click “Edit Settings”.

Gradebook aligns with your syllabus and is available to students.

 

In your syllabus, you should have an Area of Assessment section that breaks down what your final grade is based on (i.e. weights, natural/sum of points, etc). Whatever grading scenario you described in that section must match your Gradebook Setup.
