The Online Course Requirements (OCR) and Hybrid Course Requirements (HCR) at Sandhills Community College provide instructors a base level of requirements to use as a guide to help them create quality online and hybrid courses. Faculty developed the OCR and HCR to assist instructors in determining if they have all the college-required content that promotes student success. Under normal circumstances the OCR and HCR also contain a review process component where the instructor and a member of the eLearning staff review a course and discuss instructional service opportunities.
Who developed the Online Course Requirements (OCR) and the Hybrid Course Requirements (HCR)?
The OCR and HCR were developed by Sandhills faculty with significant experience in online/hybrid teaching and learning.
How can I use the requirements at the present time?
Since the standards reflect best practices, you can refer to them to see what items your courses should contain and reach out to the eLearning Team for help with any items you are not sure how to incorporate.
