The Grader Report is a part of the gradebook that allows the instructor to enter grades manually in a spreadsheet-like view. Instructors can use the Joule Grader or the Grader Report to enter grades manually.

To enter grades in the Grader Report, locate the assignment that needs grading on the top row of the gradebook. Then move down rows until you reach the student that needs to be graded. Click the cell and notice a solid line box and a dotted line box. Enter the grade in the solid line box, then enter feedback in the dotted box.
Grades are typed in the solid line box. Feedback is entered in the dotted line box.
When grades are are manually typed into the gradebook, the cell will turn a yellowish beige color. This cell can no longer receive grades from a quiz (if the student retakes the test, the grade will stay the same) or assignment. Any change to the grade must be done by typing another grade in, or the grade override must be removed.

Overridden grades appear with a yellowish, beige tint. They represent a grade that was physically typed in the gradebook by an instructor
To change a cell back from a beige tinted cell (also called a grade override), locate the pencil icon beside the name of the assignment, then click the pencil icon.

With editing turned on, the pencil icon allows access to remove overrides
Located the Overridde column, remove the check from the checkbox for the overridden grade. Save and return to the Grader Report. The cell will no longer have a different shade of color. The grade displayed will either be empty or the grade the student was given inside the assignment itself.

The Overridden checkbox causes the grade to show as a beige tint and overrides all other grades entered for that assignment until unchecked
Make sure that all category total columns and the course total column is never shaded as a grade override. If a grade is accidentally typed into a category total or course total, the students grade will be incorrect. Make sure all of these are removed when they occur.
