The Full View in the Moodle grade book can be accessed by choosing it in the drop-down list on the upper left side of the grade book. The Full View is similar to the Simple View except it adds more features that are rarely used. The Full View should be used for only two reasons. The first is to set the Aggregate method.
The Aggregate method determines how Moodle grades assignments that have yet to be completed. If “Aggregate only non-empty grades” is checked, Moodle only counts assignments with grades. If “Aggregate only non-empty grades” is unchecked, any assignment that has no grade is assigned a 0 grade automatically.
The DL Department recommends assigning a grade of 0 to all assignments that students did not complete regardless of the aggregate setting. 0’s will help alleviate problems where students are not penalized for an incomplete assignment. It is good practice to start the semester with this option checked for every category. As the semester progresses, and only one or two assignments are left, uncheck the box to make sure students are penalized for all incomplete assignments.

Setting “Aggregate only non-empty grades” to checked for each category ignores assignments that are not completed.
The second reason to use the Full View is the “Drop the lowest” setting. This setting is available for each category. The default is set to 0 which drops no grades from the category total calculation. When set to 1, the lowest grade in that category is ignored in the calculations. dropping the lowest grade is one of the benefits in organizing a grade book by categories.

When making any changes in the Full View, remember to press the “Save changes” button at the bottom before leaving the page.
